Oasis 19′ returns with Rocktaves and Rap Wars : Prizes worth 1.5 lacs each

Oasis, the annual cultural festival of BITS Pilani, is one of the largest cultural festivals in India. Besides being a platform for the launch of various independent artists, Oasis has had performers like Amit Trivedi, Farhan Akhtar, Kailash Kher, Vishal-Shekhar, Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, K.K, Benny Dayal, Papon; Sunburn and Red Bull Tour Bus, with DJs like Wolfpack, Candice Redding, Zaeden, Shaan and Anish Sood; multiple stand-up acts including TVF, East India Comedy, Biswa Kalyan Rath, and Kenny Sebastian. Since its inception, Oasis has grown into a unique cultural phenomenon attaining nationwide popularity. It is the only college festival in India which can boast of running non-stop for 96 hours. With 80+ events encompassing music, dance, drama, literary, fine arts and fashion, and a footfall of more than 15,000 students from 100s of colleges, the preparation for this year’s festival have begun in full swing.

Rap Wars

Rap Wars is a nationwide rap battle event, being organised since the last seven years. The competition takes place in 2 stages where the first stage is the eliminations in four cities, from which two winners from each cities would move on to perform in the finals during the fest. Oasis will be conducting eliminations in Bombay, Delhi, Bangalore and Kolkata, registrations for all of which are free. Winners from each of these receive free transport and accommodation for Oasis where they compete for the main prize which includes a cash pool of Rs. 1.5 lacs in addition to record deals.

Rocktaves

Rocktaves is an annual semi-pro band competition which has been going on for over 20 years. The rock competition has acted as a springboard for India’s premier rock groups of the stature of Parikrama, Indian Ocean, Superfuzz, PRESTORIKA, Them Clones and Euphoria who have taken part in the competition at different points in its history. The competition takes place in 2 stages where the first stage is divided into 2 parts, physical and online eliminations. The Oasis team will be conducting physical eliminations in Bombay, Delhi, Bangalore and Kolkata and the online eliminations in 16 states divided in 4 regions, registrations for all of which are free. Winners from each of these receive free transport and accommodation for Oasis where they compete for the main prize which includes a cash pool of Rs. 1.5 lacs in addition to record deals.

Deadline for online registration – 14th July
