Your Freestyle Could Make You India’s Next Big Rapper At The MAX URB_N UN-MUTE Rap Tour

Max Fashion, in partnership with Homegrown, kicked off MAX URB_N UN-MUTE’s 2026 run in Kochi this August, and it’s about to hit four more cities. ThirumaLi and Lil PAYYAN headlined the opening stop, with emerging rappers battling it out at a pre-cypher for a shot at sharing the stage with them. The night also brought live graffiti by Lefthander, a dance set by Movemental Crew, a clothing drop by MAX, and on-ground customisation by The Art Curry. The pre-cypher itself was hosted by Karupp Records, Max’s community partner for the city.

Launched in 2023, MAX URB_N is Max Fashion’s youth-focused sub-brand for young adults, built around fashion, music, and self-expression. Music has become a key part of how the brand connects with its next-gen audience, and UN-MUTE is emerging as max urb_n unmute’s flagship music IP. This is the third edition of the property; 2024 saw the inaugural edition with Dabzee in Kochi which then expanded into a three-city tour across Hyderabad, Kochi, and Chennai in 2025, and has now scaled up to a five-city run in 2026.

That growth is showing in the numbers too, with the Rap Hunt crossing 202 entries (and counting). The tour is expecting a footfall of around 10,000 across the cities.

MAX URB_N UN-MUTE’s run continues through Bengaluru, Pune, Delhi, and Chennai. The platform runs across two stages: the UN-MUTE Rap Hunt, a nationwide search for new talent, and the UN-MUTE Rap Tour, the five-city concert series that follows. Between digital submissions, cyphers, retail tie-ins, and live shows, the goal stays the same across every stop, turn aspiring rappers into performers and build a community around music, fashion, and self-expression.

Getting into the Rap Hunt is straightforward.

  • Record yourself rapping, either freestyle or a cover of Siddhant Chaturvedi’s ‘Naya New’, post it to Instagram Reels or YouTube Shorts with #MaxUrbnUnmute and a tag to @maxurbn.india
  • Submit the video link through the entry form on the MAX URB_N UN-MUTE website.
  • Shortlisted entrants get called up to a rap cypher in their own city on concert day, and whoever wins that cypher performs live alongside the headliners, with a feature on MAX URB_N’s digital campaigns to follow.

It’s exactly the kind of on-ramp UN-MUTE was built to create, turning an aspiring artist into a performer within a single edition.
