Bombay Brass is a Mumbai based punk/jazz band led by Saxophonist Rhys Sebastian. The band features the city’s leading musicians coming together to perform high energy instrumental music with wind instruments as it’s lead element.
This instrumental band previously played instrumental covers at The Quarter in Mumbai but now they’re back with the launch of their EP. They will be performing their original music from their upcoming self titled EP on January 22nd at antiSOCIAL, in Mumbai.
Besides Rhys on the saxophone, the band also includes many other members such as Ramon Ibrahim on Trombone, Robin Fargose on trumpet, ID Rao Tenor on the sax/flute, Zohran Miranda as the guitarist, bassist Saurabh Suman, Chirag Katti on sitar, Jehangir Jehangir as the drummer, keyboardist Rahul Wadhwani, along with Avadhoot Fadke on the flute.
This dynamic band draws its inspiration and is highly influenced by the styles of Blackstratblues, Snarky Puppy, Maceo Parker, and Shankar Jaikishan.
