Tiger Baby Records Presents: A Disco and Funk-Infused Children’s Music EP

Tiger Baby Records, the record label founded by popular musician Ankur Tewari along with filmmaker Zoya Akhtar and producer Reema Kagti, has released Dance With Me, a disco and funk-infused EP showcasing six young voices from Mumbai’s SoBo House of Music. The EP, part of a series of children’s music releases in collaboration with Platoon Music, features songs written, composed and produced by SoBo instructors Stephen Fernandes, Bradley Tellis, Garth D’mello and Nathan D’souza. Singers Divisha Khandelwal, Annika Nair, Shriya Rao, Sana Lamba and Soha Koradia deliver confident, personality-packed performances over retro-inspired productions.

The EP’s opening track, “You & Me,” is a vibrant throwback to the 80s disco era. Divisha Khandelwal’s vocals effortlessly embody the song’s carefree spirit and the instrumentation masterfully combines classic disco elements with modern pop sounds, featuring groovy basslines, lively drums, and funky guitar riffs that create an irresistible, danceable atmosphere. The smooth saxophones add a layer of sophistication and nostalgia, elevating the mood of the track.

The EP’s second track, “Saturday,” opens with a hushed, intimate tone before gradually building into a slow-dancing groove. Sana Lamba’s silky vocals seamlessly intertwine with the cool beats and synth pop elements, perfect for a laid-back weekend vibe. The song’s lyrics capture the essence of youthful exuberance and the bittersweet phase where you feel you are young and alive.

“It’s Your Birthday” is a refreshing and lighthearted addition to the EP, reminding listeners of the simple joys and unbridled happiness of childhood celebrations. The song featuring Annika’s lively and cheerful vocals creates a fun and carefree atmosphere that instantly lifts the spirits. Next the title track, “Dance With Me,” is an undeniable standout on the EP, inviting listeners to let loose and dance the night away. Anaisha Chaudhary’s powerful vocals take center stage, perfectly complementing the track’s infectious rhythm with pulsating basslines, shimmering synths, and an old-school ambience.

The fifth track in the EP, “Together Forever,” is a heartwarming ode to friendship. Soha Koradia’s soulful vocals take the lead with comforting melody and gentle instrumentation that creates a sense of nostalgia. The listening experience is both fun and reflective, as the song effortlessly flows through its verses and choruses, occasionally pausing for emphasis on key moments.

The EP’s closing track, “Tonight,” featuring Shriya’s vibrant vocals, celebrates living in the moment and making lasting memories. The mood is fun and reminiscent of the euphoric feeling of a never-ending party. The music remains lively and vibrant throughout, with the artists skillfully crafting groovy beats that keep the energy high. Overall, “Dance With Me” is a delightful showcase of young talent and succeeds in creating a joyful, danceable atmosphere that will resonate with listeners of all ages. As the singers continue to hone their craft and collaborate with experienced musicians, we can expect to see more exciting and innovative projects from these gifted performers.
