Yuva Sur Sartaj 2025: The Search for India’s Next Hindustani Vocal Star

Have your mornings been echoing with Aalaps or have you been refining every Raga, dreaming of that perfect performance? If Hindustani classical music is what you live and breathe, Yuva Sur Sartaj 2025 might be exactly what you’ve been waiting for.

Organised by the Dedhia Music Foundation, Yuva Sur Sartaj is back with its second edition and is inviting talented vocalists aged 15 to 30 from across the country to step into the spotlight. This national-level competition is curated with care, bringing together some of the most respected voices in the industry. The jury this year features Pt. Ulhas Kashalkar, Vidushi Shubha Mudgal, and Vidushi Kaushiki Chakraborty. They will be listening closely to every submission, looking for promising artists who show skill and individuality.

Yuva Sur Sartaj is rooted in the belief that young musicians need more than applause. Participants are offered structured support, including professional studio recordings through the DMF Studio Series, guided mentorship, and carefully chosen performance opportunities. Winners of the 2024 edition were endowed with exactly this and their presence within the classical music community has grown steadily since.

The Dedhia Music Foundation, founded by Aatish Dedhia and Dr. Alpa Dedhia is dedicated to promoting Hindustani classical music by providing platforms to serious students and emerging artists. “We created Yuva Sur Sartaj to bridge a crucial gap for young classical musicians’ access to mentorship, visibility, and performance platforms,” says Aatish Dedhia. Our vision is to help  them grow into confident, well-supported artists who can carry forward India’s rich classical tradition,” he adds, reinforcing his commitment to nurturing and empowering young talent.
