Heat Sink creates a balance between theory and its emotional implication on their debut EP

What if you take the beauty of the Jazz genre and methodically incorporate an impressive feel of progressive and classic rock with a final sprinkle of straight-up awesome? Well, that’s Heat Sink for you. Hailing from the city of Ahmedabad, Gujarat, this indie progressive rock band has managed to make a name for themselves owing to their immaculate musicality and unique sound. Their talents have allowed them to bag prizes in various competitions, the most recent being the introduction into the prestigious Nexa Music’s Top 24 Winner list.

Heat Sink manages to arrest the listener’s attention from the very first minute of their EP due to their supreme and mellifluous composition. Every instrument used in the production of their songs work fastidiously towards ensuring that the final product is a beautiful marriage of a diverse variety of genres and musical elements that will leave the audience in awe. For the lot of us who are well versed in the world of progressive and jazz rock, it’s evident that Heat Sink derives a lot of influence from legends like Haken, Porcupine Tree, Hiatus Kaiyote and others. Although the theoretical and technical intricacies of jazz might throw people off, Heat Sink manages to create a balance between the theory and the emotional implication that every song has for the listener.

With their debut EP ‘Euphony’, they have managed to break into the indie music scene perfectly as they bring a lot to the table. Apart from having their EP mixed and mastered by a 2-time Grammy awardee, their own personal experience of working with eminent figures like Clinton Cerejo and A.R Rahman explains a lot about how they packed a wallop with their very first release.

It releases across all major streaming platforms on 15th August.
